Threadless jewellery is a popular type of jewellery used in piercings - it's very common in jewellery intended for use in cartilage piercings - but what is threadless jewellery and how do we use it?

A lot of piercing jewellery typically uses some sort of threading system to screw the topper or back of the jewellery into the post to secure it into place - this is usually either internally or externally threaded.

Threadless jewellery does not use either of these thread types to secure the jewellery in place. Threadless jewellery has no threads and is generally considered easier to use as it is less fiddly to insert without assistance.

Threadless jewellery relies on the pin or prong which is inserted into the post, gripping inside the post. Most threadless jewellery will come supplied with a slight bend in the pin - this is what secures the topper of the jewellery inside the post.

We have a handy how to guide below to demonstrate how to use threadless jewellery
